More about Children at Risk and their Methodology Behind the RankingsÌý
Children at Risk is a research and advocacy nonprofit that leads the way in improving the quality of life for Texas children. They consider the whole child by tracking issues in children’s health, safety, education, and economic security to improve equity and justice for all Texas families. For the past 20 years, they have ranked and graded Texas public schools to help parents, educators, and communities to better understand ow their local schools are performing.ÌýÌý
For elementary and middle schools, grades are based on student achievement, student growth and relative performance. High schools are graded on an additional metric of college readiness that takes into account graduation rates, AP/IB and SAT/ACT scores and participation.Ìý
