From Home to Classroom: Chavarri Family鈥檚 Path to Perfect Attendance

As September comes to a close, we鈥檇 like to reflect on Attendance Awareness Month. A time dedicated to raise awareness and the power of showing up every day throughout the school year. Families and students across our campuses work hard each day to prioritize attendance, setting a strong foundation for a year of growth and success.

Among those leading the way are three brothers from 艾可直播 Robindale: Luis (12th grade), Damian (11th grade), and Brandon (6th grade). Together, they are proving that when students show up every day, students build a strong foundation for success not only in the classroom, but in life.

For Damian, perfect attendance is about consistency and focus. 鈥淧erfect attendance means I go to school every day, I don鈥檛 miss class, and I鈥檓 always on time so I don鈥檛 miss any important subjects,鈥 he shared. His brother Luis agreed, adding that missing even one day can create unnecessary stress. 鈥淭he makeup work keeps stacking. Being here every day keeps me on top of my classwork and ready for the future.鈥

Brandon, the youngest of the three, put it simply but powerfully: 鈥淚f you miss one day, you can fall behind on two lessons. That鈥檚 why I don鈥檛 like missing, it鈥檚 better to just be there every day.鈥

All three brothers are not only maintaining strong attendance this year but also aiming high with their personal goals. Damian is working toward straight A鈥檚 and a strong ACT score, Luis hopes to reclaim the top spot in his senior class while preparing for college, and Brandon is determined to surpass his previous scores on the Reading STAAR. Their commitment shows how good attendance supports both academic achievement and long-term goals.

Behind their success is a family effort. Their mom makes sure everyone is up and ready in the mornings, while their dad instills the value of hard work and commitment. Together, their parents have built a home environment where education comes first, demonstrating that strong attendance is not just a student responsibility but a family commitment.

The brothers agree that their parents are the driving force. As Damian shared, 鈥淲henever I don鈥檛 wake up on time, my mom comes in and wakes me up. She scolds me, but it gets me up and ready for school.鈥 Brandon added, 鈥淢y mom always wakes me up and helps me get ready, and when I need extra help, my older brother is there to push me, too.鈥 Luis highlighted his father鈥檚 influence, explaining, 鈥淢y dad has taught me how to be a hard worker. I see how hard he works for us and that motivates me to stay focused at school.鈥

As we close out Attendance Awareness Month, the Chavarri family鈥檚 story reminds us why we champion #EveryStudentEveryDay. Showing up means staying connected with teachers and friends, keeping up with lessons, and building habits that prepare students for college and beyond. As Luis put it best: 鈥淧lan ahead, make a schedule, and stay committed. That鈥檚 what keeps you balanced and successful.鈥

This month, we celebrate the Chavarri family and every 艾可直播 student and family who makes attendance a priority this school year. Let鈥檚 carry this momentum forward and commit to strong attendance each month.
